Charity begins away from home for Alton players
Two Alton cricketers will be on charity missions in the next few weeks, and your support would be appreciated.
Young Ed Hubbard is off to Africa to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, and veteran Gareth Billington is cycling to Paris, both in the name of charity.
Ed Klimbs Killi
This August, with a group of fellow students from the University of Nottingham, Ed will be attempting to climb the WORLD's highest freestanding mountain with the aim of raising £2200 for Childreach International.
Its going to be tough, but its a very worthy cause. Heres a bit of extra information, both on the charity and climb, so you can decide whether he really deserves your donation!
Childreach International is a charity with the sole aim of helping children in some of the most poverty-stricken areas on the planet.
Your donation alone could help children such as
this cheeky Tanzanian chappy to enjoy a far greater quality of life

Billers pedals to Paris
As may already be aware Gareth, along with several workmates, is embarking on a charity bike ride from their offices in Basingstoke to Paris in September; 180 miles (288 kilometres once we cross the water) in 3 days.
They are raising money for 4 different charities;
- Breast Cancer Care
- The National Association for Colitis & Crohn's Disease
- Diabetes UK
- Pancreatic Cancer UK
Gareth is primarily taking part to raise money for Diabetes UK, as most of you will know that his son Oliver was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when he was two and a half years old. He would greatly appreciate any sponsorship that you could give to us at the following link

If any of you have influence with people who decide these things where you work then please ask them too. The top 10 company donations will get to sponsor a rider who will then wear your company logo all the way to Paris.
Thanks for all your support so far and in the future!
